Butterscotch Pie - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. brown sugar
    1/4 c. water
    1/4 c. butter
    1 Tbsp. light corn syrup
    1 3/4 c. milk
    3 Tbsp. flour
    2 tsp. cornstarch
    1/2 c. sugar
    1/4 tsp. salt
    2 egg yolks
    1 tsp. vanilla
Preparation
    Combine brown sugar, water, butter and corn syrup.
    Cook until it forms a hard ball when dropped in cold water.
    Scald milk in top of double boiler.
    Combine flour, cornstarch, granulated sugar, salt and mix thoroughly.
    Add to scalded milk.
    Cook 15 minutes, stirring constantly.
    Add hot butterscotch mixture; stir until smooth.
    Stir a small amount of mixture into beaten egg yolks; return to double boiler and cook a few minutes longer.
    Use 2 egg whites and 1/4 cup white sugar for meringue.
