Cleo'S Apple Slice Bars - cooking recipe
Ingredients

2 1/2 c. flour
1 c. shortening
1 Tbsp. sugar
1 tsp. salt
1 egg yolk in c., add milk to make 2/3 c.
5 1/2 c. sliced apples
1 1/2 c. sugar
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 c. powdered sugar
2 Tbsp. lemon juice
Preparation

Mix first 4 ingredients. Add egg yolk and milk. Roll out half and put in jelly roll pan. Crush 1 cup corn flakes and put on bottom crust. Put apple mixture on crust and roll half of crust; put on top (slit). Froth egg white and spread over top crust. Mix powdered sugar and lemon juice. Drizzle over top when hot. Bake at 400\u00b0 for 1 hour in 11 x 15-inch pan.
