Gingered Plum Crisp - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 lb. red or purple plums or both, halved, pitted and cut into 1/2-inch slices (about 10 plums)
    1 1/2 c. sugar
    1/4 c. butter, melted
    grated peel and juice of 1 orange (no white attached)
    1 tsp. ground ginger or 2 Tbsp. fresh ginger*
    1/4 c. sugar
    1/8 tsp. nutmeg
    1 1/2 c. quick oats
    3/4 c. brown sugar
    1/2 c. Grape-Nuts cereal
    1/2 c. chopped pecans
    1/2 c. chopped walnuts
    1/2 tsp. vanilla extract
    1/2 tsp. almond extract
    1/2 c. butter, melted
Preparation
    *If using fresh ginger, chop fine, mix with 1/4 cup sugar and let sit an hour before using.
