English Taffy(Like Heath Candy Bars) - cooking recipe

Ingredients

1 c. sugar
1 c. butter (oleo)
1 Tbsp. corn syrup
3 Tbsp. water
1 Hershey bar
1/2 c. finely chopped nut meats (pecans)
1/4 c. nuts, ground finely or chopped

Preparation

Mix the sugar, butter, corn syrup and water.
Cook until 290\u00b0 or few drops crack in cold water.
Chop the Hershey bar finely. Put 1/2 cup nut meats in bottom of a 9 x 9-inch pan.
Pour syrup over nuts.
Put the 1/4 cup ground nuts on top and candy bar on top of nuts.
Cool and break in pieces.
