Chocolate Applesauce Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients

1 1/2 c. sugar
1/2 c. butter (room temperature)
2 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
2 c. flour
1 1/2 tsp. soda
3 Tbsp. cocoa
1 (16 oz.) can applesauce
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 c. chopped nuts
3 Tbsp. sugar
6 oz. (1 c.) chocolate chips

Preparation

Combine 1 1/2 cups sugar, butter, eggs and vanilla.
Add the flour, soda, cocoa, applesauce and salt; mix by hand.
Pour into greased and floured 9 x 13-inch pan.
Combine nuts, 3 tablespoons sugar and chocolate chips.
Bake at 350\u00b0 for 40 minutes.
