Beef Stew - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3 lb. chuck, cut in pieces
    4 carrots, sliced
    3 stalks celery, chopped
    3 to 4 medium potatoes, cut in pieces
    2 tsp. salt
    1 tsp. basil
    pepper to taste
    large onion, sliced
    3 to 4 c. V-8 juice
    1/3 c. tapioca (quick)
Preparation
    Put beef, carrots, onion and celery in large casserole dish. Combine V-8 juice, tapioca and spices.
    Pour over beef and vegetables.
    Cover casserole and bake for 2 1/2 hours at 300\u00b0. Take off cover and add potatoes.
    Cook 1 hour, uncovered.
    This is also good served over rice or egg noodles.
