Mrs. Blake'S Date Nut Loaf - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. sugar
    1/2 c. Wesson oil
    1/2 tsp. salt
    4 eggs (whites beaten separately)
    1 c. plain flour
    1 tsp. baking powder
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1 pkg. dates
    1 c. or more pecans
Preparation
    Divide flour in half.
    Cream sugar, Wesson oil and egg yolks until fluffy.
    Mix nuts and dates with 1/2 cup flour.
    Add 1 teaspoon baking powder to other 1/2 cup flour.
    Add salt with creamed egg yolks.
    Add vanilla, flour, nuts and dates.
    Mix well. Add beaten egg whites.
    Mixture will be very stiff.
    Place in greased and floured loaf pan.
    Bake at 300\u00b0 for about 1 1/2 hours.
