Sunny Corn Bread - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. corn meal
    1 c. sifted self-rising flour
    1/4 c. sugar
    1 egg
    1 c. milk
    1/4 c. soft shortening (Wesson oil)
Preparation
    Preheat oven to 425\u00b0. Sift together dry ingredients; add egg, milk and shortening. Mix well until smooth. Pour in greased 8-inch square pan or greased muffin pan. Bake for 20 to 30 minutes. Serves 12 muffins. Half recipe for 6 muffins.
