Apple Crunch Muffins - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 1/2 c. sifted flour
    1/2 c. sugar
    2 tsp. baking powder
    1/2 tsp. cinnamon
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1/4 c. shortening
    1 egg, slightly beaten
    1/2 c. milk
    1 c. diced apples
Preparation
    Sift flour, sugar, baking powder, salt and cinnamon in mixing bowl.
    Cut in shortening until fine crumbs form.
    Combine milk and egg.
    Add dry ingredients along with apples.
    Stir just to moisten.
    Spoon batter into muffin cups filling 2/3 full.
    Mix together topping and sprinkle on top of muffin batter.
