Chinese Chicken - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    8 chicken thighs or legs
    6 scallions cut in one-inch pieces
    2 slices ginger root
    2 big garlic cloves, sliced
    1 Tbsp. brown sugar
    1/2 c. soy sauce
    1 tsp. white wine
Preparation
    Heat 2 tablespoons oil and add onion, ginger root and chicken until it is browned.
    Add the rest of the ingredients; hold out the garlic cloves.
    Bring to a boil, then cover and put on low fire for one hour.
    Turn chicken a few times while cooking.
    Add sliced garlic 5 minutes before it's done.
    Good served with rice.
