Shrimp Cocktail And Sauce(Serves 6) - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 1/2 lb. large (or bigger), raw and unpeeled shrimp
    3 qt. boiling water
    1 tsp. salt
    juice of 1 lemon
    1/2 c. sweet pickle liquid or Tbsp. pickling spice
Preparation
    Combine boiling water, salt, lemon juice and sweet pickle liquid or pickling spice; boil for 5 minutes.
    Add shrimp.
    Remove from heat when water returns to boil.
    Let stand for 2 minutes. Scoop from water to a pan of very cold water to stop the cooking (if overcooked, shrimp shrink excessively and become tough).
    Peel and devein shrimp.
    Reserve and cool about a quarter of the shrimp broth to be used for refrigerating peeled and deveined shrimp.
