Italian Tomato Sauce - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3 Tbsp. olive oil
    1 c. chopped onion
    1 Tbsp. minced garlic
    2 tsp. basil
    1 tsp. oregano
    2 bay leaves
    2 tsp. salt
    1 (1 lb. 13 oz.) can crushed tomatoes
    1 (6 oz.) can tomato paste
    2 Tbsp. dry red wine
    1 c. freshly chopped tomatoes
    1/4 tsp. black pepper
Preparation
    Saute the first 7 ingredients in a large kettle.
    When onion is clear and very soft, add remaining ingredients.
    Turn the heat way down.
    Cover and simmer at least 45 minutes, stirring occasionally.
    Then add 1/2 cup freshly chopped parsley.
