Cucumber Pickle - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    7 lb. cucumber
    2 c. pickling lime
    1 c. salt
    1/2 c. alum
    1/2 box mixed spices
    2 qt. vinegar
    6 lb. sugar
Preparation
    Slice cucumbers thin.
    Wash and soak in lime water overnight. Soak in salt water 4 hours.
    Drain, soak in cold water 2 hours and drain.
    Bring to a boil in alum water.
    Rinse in water.
    Cook 30 minutes in vinegar, sugar and spices.
    Seal jars.
