Heavenly Pie - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 1/2 c. granulated sugar
1/2 tsp. cream of tartar
4 egg whites (unbeaten)
3 Tbsp. flaked coconut (this item can be omitted)
4 egg yolks (unbeaten)
1 Tbsp. grated lemon peel
3 Tbsp. lemon juice
1/8 tsp. salt
2 c. heavy cream

Preparation

Heat oven to 275\u00b0.
Sift 1 cup of the sugar with the cream of tartar. With mixer at medium speed, beat egg whites until stiff but not dry; slowly add sugar mixture until stiff and glossy. Spread mixture over the bottom and sides of a 9-inch well-greased glass pie plate.
Make the bottom thinner than the sides. Sprinkle with 2 tablespoons of coconut.
Bake for 1 hour, until light and crisp.
Toast rest of coconut.
