Fried Apple Pies - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    5 c. plain flour
    1 egg
    1/2 c. sugar
    1 heaping Tbsp. shortening
    1 can evaporated milk
    homemade or canned applesauce
Preparation
    Mix flour, shortening and sugar until like meal.
    Add egg and milk.
    Work dough until rubbery.
    Refrigerate overnight.
    Roll dough out thin; cut out pies, using a small saucer.
    Add desired amount of applesauce to the center of each pie.
    Fold in half and seal edges with a fork.
    Fry in hot oil, until brown.
