Peanut Patties - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3 c. sugar
    1 c. water
    1 c. light corn syrup
    1 lb. raw Spanish peanuts (3 1/4 c.)
    6 drops red food color
    1/4 c. oleo
    salt
Preparation
    Combine water, sugar, and syrup in saucepan.
    Bring to a boil over medium heat.
    Add peanuts and 6 drops red food coloring.
    Cook to hard ball stage.
    Remove from heat; add 1/4 cup oleo and pinch of salt.
    Beat until thick.
    Pour on greased cookie sheet.
    When cool, break in pieces.
