Rice Pudding - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 c. long grain rice
    1 c. water
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1 qt. whole milk
    1/2 stick butter or margarine
    3 eggs, beaten
    1/2 c. sugar
    1 c. raisins
    1/2 tsp. vanilla
Preparation
    Add rice to salt in boiling water.
    Cover and cook for 7 to 10 minutes, until water is absorbed.
    Add milk and margarine.
    Stir and bring to a boil.
    Turn heat to very low when milk has ceased boiling; cook until milk is almost absorbed.
    (Add sugar, raisins, vanilla and eggs together.)
    Pour into rice; stir slowly until rice begins to thicken.
    May serve hot, warm or cold.
