Spicy Oatmeal Cookies(From The Files Of Ola Dortch Williams) - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 egg
    1/2 c. sugar
    2 Tbsp. milk
    1 c. dry rolled oats
    1 c. Gladiola flour
    1 tsp. cinnamon
    1/2 tsp. nutmeg
    1/8 tsp. soda
    1/2 tsp. baking powder
    1/2 c. butter
    1/2 c. nut meats
    1/2 c. raisins
Preparation
    Beat the egg and add the sugar and milk.
    Mix well and add the rolled oats.
    Sift the Gladiola once and measure, then add the spices the soda and the baking powder.
    Sift the dry ingredients into the first mixture and blend well.
    Melt the butter or other shortening and add it, then the chopped nuts and the raisins. Drop the mixture onto a well-greased baking sheet or pie pan with a teaspoon and bake in hot oven for about 15 minutes.
    The cookies will spread slightly in baking, so place them well apart on the sheet.
    This recipe makes about 2 1/2 dozen cookies.
