Cream Of Asparagus Soup - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 lb. fresh asparagus, tough edges trimmed and cut into 1-inch pieces
    1 c. chicken stock plus 2 1/2 c. chicken stock
    1/4 c. butter
    1/4 c. flour
    1/3 c. light cream
    1/4 tsp. black pepper
    lemon wedges for garnish
Preparation
    Cook asparagus in 1 cup of stock until tender.
    Melt butter in deep saucepan.
    Remove from heat.
    Stir in flour.
    Add 2 1/2 cups stock, a little at a time.
    Cook, stirring, until slightly thickened.
    Stir in cream, pepper and cooked asparagus with liquid.
    Heat through.
    Serve hot with lemon wedges to squeeze over top of soup.
    Serves 6.
