Bran Muffins - cooking recipe

1 1/2 c. all-bran
3/4 c. sugar
1 1/4 c. flour
1 Tbsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt (optional)
1 c. raisins
1/2 c. hot water
2 Tbsp. molasses
1 egg
1/2 c. Wesson corn oil or your favorite oil
1 c. sour milk or buttermilk*

*For sour milk, take 1 tablespoon lemon juice or vinegar plus sweet milk to make 1 cup.
