Red Velvet Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 1/2 c. flour
    1 1/2 c. sugar
    1/2 c. margarine
    2 eggs
    2 Tbsp. cocoa
    1 c. buttermilk
    2 oz. red food coloring
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1 tsp. salt
    1 tsp. vinegar
    1 tsp. soda
Preparation
    Cream together the shortening and sugar.
    Add whole eggs; blend in.
    Make paste of coloring and cocoa.
    Add to sugar mixture along with salt, vanilla, soda and vinegar.
    Alternately add flour and buttermilk.
    Bake in two 8 x 8-inch layer pans at 350\u00b0 for approximately 30 minutes.
    Cool in pan for a few minutes before removing it to racks to continue cooling.
