Vidalia Onion Rings - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 1/4 c. all-purpose flour
    dash of salt
    1 egg, slightly beaten
    1 1/4 c. milk
    1 tsp. vegetable oil
    5 large Vidalia onions, sliced
Preparation
    Combine flour, salt, egg, milk and oil in a mixing bowl, stirring with a wooden spoon to blend.
    Batter may still be slightly lumpy.
    Slice onions 1/4-inch thick.
    Separate into rings and dip into batter.
    Drop into a pot or wok filled with at least 6 inches of cooking oil, heated to 375\u00b0.
    Cook only until rings are golden brown.
    Drain on paper towel.
