Apple Stack Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3 c. White Lily flour (all-purpose)
    1/2 tsp. baking soda
    1/2 tsp. cream of tartar
    1 c. packed brown sugar
    1/2 c. shortening
    1/2 c. butter or margarine
    2 eggs
    1 tsp. vanilla
    2 (8 oz.) pkg. evaporated apples
    5 c. water
    1 c. sugar
    1 tsp. ground cinnamon
    1 tsp. ground nutmeg
    1/4 tsp. ground cloves
    1/4 tsp. salt
Preparation
    Preheat oven to 350\u00b0.
    Grease seven 8-inch round pans and line bottoms with waxed paper; set aside.
