Chicken And Dumplings - cooking recipe
Ingredients

6 1/2 c. water, divided
4 (8 oz.) chicken breasts
1 1/2 c. sliced mushrooms
3/4 c. diced carrots
2 Tbsp. chopped onion
3/4 tsp. poultry seasoning
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. pepper
1 tsp. lemon juice
4 drops hot sauce
1 clove garlic, minced
1 1/4 c. plus 2 Tbsp. all-purpose flour, divided
1 tsp. baking powder
1/2 c. skim milk
Preparation
-
Place 6 cups of water and next four ingredients in a large Dutch oven.
Bring to a boil.
Cover and reduce heat.
Simmer 45 minutes or until chicken is tender.
Remove chicken breast halves from broth and let each cool separately.
Discard skin and bones. Cut chicken into bite size pieces.
Add to vegetable mixture. Cover and chill 8 hours.
