Old-Time Rice Pudding - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3/4 c. uncooked rice
    1 1/2 qt. whole milk
    3/4 c. sugar
    1/4 tsp. nutmeg
    1/2 tsp. salt
    3/4 c. seedless raisins (optional)
Preparation
    Wash rice.
    Add milk, sugar, nutmeg and salt.
    Place in a buttered 2 1/2-quart baking dish.
    Bake at 325\u00b0 for 2 1/2 hours, stirring twice during the first hour.
    Stir brown crust into pudding several times during remainder of baking.
    Add raisins 1/2 hour before pudding is done, then allow crust to form again on pudding.
