My Mother'S Root Beer - cooking recipe
Ingredients

5 lb. sugar
1 yeast cake
root beer extract
Preparation

Put yeast cake in cup of very warm water (not hot).
Let stand.
Put 4 to 4 1/2 gallons of warm water in large container (new clean trash can will do).
Try to keep water warm at all times.
Work quickly.
Add sugar and mix.
Add yeast mixture and mix well.
Add extract.
Pour into bottles.
After each bottle, mix so yeast will distribute (use glass quart bottles for best results).
