German Potato Salad - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    6 large potatoes, diced (salted)
    5 slices bacon, diced
    1/2 large onion, diced
    2Tbsp. vinegar
    2 Tbsp. sugar
    1/4 c. water
    2 c. Cheddar cheese or to taste
Preparation
    Cook potatoes until nearly done. Drain (don't overcook).
    Cook bacon and onion until crispy.
    Don't drain grease.
    Add the vinegar, sugar and water. Bring to a boil for 2 minutes.
    Pour over potatoes. Cover with cheese.
