Maryland Biscuits - cooking recipe
Ingredients

4 c. sifted flour
1 Tbsp. sugar
1/2 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. salt
1 c. lard
3/4 c. cold water (ice water best)
Preparation

Stir dry ingredients, cut in lard until mixture looks like cornmeal, add water, making up small portions at a time.
Knead mixture well, then place on biscuit board and hammer 1/2 hour. Turn dough during beating, cover with damp cloth and make out biscuits.
Bake in hot oven at 450\u00b0 to 475\u00b0 for 17 to 20 minutes.
