Vegetable-Barley Soup - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 lb. lean ground beef
    1/2 c. chopped onions
    1 clove garlic, minced
    5 c. cold water
    1 (14 1/2 oz.) can unsalted whole tomatoes, cut up
    3/4 c. quick Quaker's barley
    1/2 c. sliced celery
    1/2 c. sliced carrots
    2 beef bouillon cubes
    1 (9 oz.) pkg. frozen mixed vegetables
Preparation
    Brown meat.
    Add onions and garlic.
    Cook until onions are tender.
    Drain.
    Stir in remaining ingredients.
    Cover and boil for 15 minutes.
