Hamburger Casserole - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 lb. hamburger or ground round
    4 or 5 medium-size potatoes, peeled and sliced thinly into rounds
    1 small onion, finely chopped
    1 can cream of mushroom soup
    1/2 c. milk
    salt and pepper to taste
    American or mild Cheddar cheese, grated (optional)
Preparation
    Brown hamburger in a large skillet.
    When meat is done, dip meat out of the grease with a slotted spoon.
    Meat may be patted on paper towels to remove even more grease.
    Lightly grease a 13 x 9 x 2-inch casserole pan.
    Place a layer of hamburger, then a layer of potatoes and onions.
    Keep layering until all the hamburger and potatoes and onions are used.
    Add salt and pepper to taste.
    Mix milk and soup together; pour over top of casserole. Cover with aluminum foil and bake at 350\u00b0 for about an hour or until potatoes are tender.
    Remove from oven and sprinkle grated cheese over top.
    Return to oven and bake until cheese is bubbly.
