Hot Caramel Apples - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/4 c. butter or margarine
    1/2 c. sugar
    1 tsp. cinnamon
    1 c. regular or low-fat evaporated milk
4 large Granny Smith or Golden Delicious apples, peeled, cored and cut into 1/2-inch slices
Preparation
In a large heavy bottomed skillet over medium-high heat, melt butter. Add sugar. Stir rapidly just until mixture is golden brown (1 to 2 minutes). Stir in cinnamon. Remove pan from heat. Add milk. Return to heat, stirring until hardened sugar dissolves and mixture looks like caramel (2 to 3 minutes). Add apples and coat with caramel. Cover skillet.
Reduce heat and simmer until apples are just tender (about 5 minutes).
With slotted spoon, transfer apples to serving bowl.
Over high heat, bring caramel to a boil until thickened (1 to 2 minutes).
    Pour over apples.
