Bread And Butter Pickles - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    25 dill sized cucumbers
    8 small onions
    1/2 c. salt
    1 qt. vinegar
    2 tsp. celery seed
    2 c. sugar
    2 tsp. turmeric powder
Preparation
    Wash and slice cucumbers and onions.
    Place in large container and cover with water to which you have added the salt.
    Let stand 1 hour, then drain.
    Mix vinegar, sugar, celery seed and turmeric in saucepan and heat.
    Add cucumbers and onions, boil 3 minutes and pack into prepared jars and seal.
    Let stand for several weeks before opening.
