Grandma'S Caramel Candy - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. sugar
    pinch of salt
    1/2 c. butter
    2 c. light corn syrup
    1 2/3 c. evaporated milk
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1 1/2 c. chopped Brazil nuts
Preparation
    Combine sugar, salt, butter and corn syrup in a heavy saucepan.
    Bring to a boil over low heat, stirring constantly. Add milk slowly.
    Candy should remain at a boil.
    Cook, without stirring, to 244\u00b0 on candy thermometer or firm ball stage.
    Stir in vanilla and nuts.
    Pour into greased, shallow pan.
    Cool.
    Cut into squares.
