Seven-Layer Gelatin Salad - cooking recipe

7 packages. (3 oz. each) assorted flavored gelatin
4 1/2 cups boiling water, divided
4 1/2 cups cold water, divided
1 can (12 oz.) evaporated milk, divided
1 carton (8 oz.) frozen whipped topping, thawed
Preparation

In a bowl, dissolve 1 pkg. of gelatin in 3/4 cup boiling water. Add 3/4 cup cold water; stir. Spoon into a 13 x 9 in. dish coated with non-stick cooking spray. Refrigerate until almost set, about 40 minutes. In a bowl, dissolve another pkg. of gelatin in 1/2 cup boiling water. Add 1/2 cup cold water and 1/2 cup milk; stir. Spoon over the first layer. Refrigerate until almost set, about 40 minutes. Repeat five times, alternating plain gelatin with creamy gelatin, refrigerating between layers. Just before serving, spread top with whipped topping. This salad takes time to prepare since each layer must be set before the next one is added. You can change the colors to suit any occasion.
