Southern Biscuits - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. plus 2 Tbsp. flour
    1 tsp. baking powder
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1/4 tsp. soda
    2 Tbsp. Crisco or butter
    1/2 c. buttermilk
Preparation
    Mix the dry ingredients together in a mixing bowl.
    Blend the Crisco until coarse and grainy.
    Using a fork, stir in buttermilk. Do not overmix.
    Put on a floured board and knead a few times. Roll out the dough about 1/2-inch thickness.
    Cut with a biscuit cutter or glass.
    Melt 1 tablespoon Crisco in a heavy black iron pan and place the biscuits in it; turn once in oil.
    Bake for 10 minutes or until golden brown.
    Bake at 450\u00b0.
