Fried Cheese Meltaways - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    vegetable oil
    1/2 c. milk
    1 lb. cheese, cut into 3/4-inch cubes (Swiss, Monterey Jack, Cheddar, American or Mozzarella)
    1 c. Bisquick or Jiffy baking mix
    1 egg
    extra baking mix for coating
Preparation
    Heat oil (2-inches) in fryer to 375\u00b0.
    Beat 1 cup baking mix, milk and egg with beater until smooth.
    Coat cheese cubes lightly with baking mix.
    Insert a wooden toothpick in each cheese cube. Dip in batter, covering cheese completely.
    Fry several cubes at a time, turning carefully, until golden brown, 1 to 2 minutes.
    Drain on paper towel.
    Makes about 45 appetizers.
