Jambalaya - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 lb. ham
1 c. chopped green pepper
1 c. chopped onion
1 clove garlic, minced
1/4 tsp. cayenne pepper
2 Tbsp. chopped parsley
2 Tbsp. Worcestershire
1 (28 oz.) can whole tomatoes
1 Tbsp. shortening
2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. thyme
1 Tbsp. flour
2 1/2 c. water
2 c. rice
1 lb. shrimp
Preparation

In large skillet, cook ham 5 minutes.
Drain off all but 2 tablespoons fat.
Add pepper, onion and garlic.
Cook until tender.
Blend in flour and brown slowly stirring often.
Stir in tomatoes, water and parsley.
Bring to a boil and add rice, Worcestershire, salt, thyme and pepper.
Return to boil.
Reduce and simmer covered 20 minutes.
Add shrimp and cook 10 minutes longer.
