Best Swiss Steak - cooking recipe
Ingredients

2 lb. round steak (1/4-inch thick)
1 clove garlic, halved
3 Tbsp. flour
2 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. pepper
2 Tbsp. shortening
1 large onion, sliced
4 medium fresh or canned tomatoes, sliced
2 carrots, sliced
1/2 c. celery, sliced
1/4 c. green pepper, chopped
Preparation

Rub steak with side of garlic.
Chop and reserve garlic. Pound flour, salt and pepper into the steak.
Melt shortening; brown steak on both sides.
Top steak with onion slices, tomatoes, carrots, celery, green pepper and chopped garlic.
Cover and bake in preheated oven at 325\u00b0 for 2 to 2 1/2 hours.
Serve over rice.
