Strawberry Squares - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. sifted all-purpose flour
    1/4 c. brown sugar
    1/2 c. chopped walnuts
    1/2 c. butter, melted
    2 egg whites
    1/2 c. granulated sugar
    2 Tbsp. lemon juice
    1 pt. fresh Highland strawberries, sliced (reserve 3 to 4 whole strawberries for decoration)
    1/4 c. whipped cream
Preparation
    Mix flour, brown sugar, walnuts and butter.
    Sprinkle mixture evenly in shallow baking pan.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 for 20 minutes, stirring occasionally to make crumbs.
    Sprinkle 2/3 of crumbs in 13 x 9 x 2-inch baking pan; reserve remaining crumbs.
    Beat egg whites until frothy; gradually add sugar and lemon juice, beating to stiff peaks.
    Add Highland strawberries; continue beating until peaks reform.
    Fold strawberry mixture into whipped cream.
    Spoon over crumbs in prepared baking pan; top with reserved crumbs.
    Freeze 6 hours or overnight.
    Cut in squares.
