Chicken-Fried Round Steak - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 1/2 lb. (1/2-inch) round steak
    1 beaten egg
    1 Tbsp. milk
    1 c. fine crushed saltine crackers
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1/2 tsp. pepper
    1/4 c. oil
Preparation
    Pound steak to 1/4-inch thickness; cut into 6 pieces.
    Blend egg and milk.
    Combine cracker crumbs, salt and pepper.
    Dip meat in egg mixture, then in crumbs.
    Slowly brown meat in hot oil. Cover tightly and cook over low heat until the meat is tender, approximately 45 minutes.
