Chocolate Covered Whiskey Balls - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3 1/2 c. vanilla wafer crumbs (one 12 oz. box)
    2 Tbsp. cocoa
    1/2 c. powdered confectioners sugar
    1 c. chopped nuts
    1/4 c. lite corn syrup
    1/2 c. bourbon
    1 (12 oz.) bag semi-sweet chocolate chips
    2 Tbsp. shortening
Preparation
    Mix all dry ingredients.
    Add 1/4 cup lite corn syrup and 1/2 cup bourbon.
    Stir until well mixed.
    Roll into 1-inch balls. Dip into chocolate chips melted with 2 tablespoons shortening (use a double boiler).
    Lay out on waxed paper in refrigerator until firm.
    Best if kept cold.
    Makes about 5 dozen.
