Lima Bean Chowder(Real Good) - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 c. bacon, chopped fine
    1 large onion
    3 c. chicken broth
    1 c. cubed carrots
    2 c. cubed potatoes
    2 c. mushrooms, sliced
    1 1/2 c. lima beans (fordhook)
    3/4 tsp. salt
    1/4 tsp. pepper
    1/8 tsp. nutmeg
    1/2 tsp. dill weed
    1/2 tsp. garlic powder
    1/2 c. light cream
    1 1/2 Tbsp. butter or oleo
Preparation
    Fry bacon in large heavy skillet until brown.
    Saute onions in bacon drippings until transparent.
    Add broth, vegetables and herbs; cover over low heat for 25 minutes.
    Put cream in small amount of hot mixture and add to rest of soup.
    Simmer several more minutes, until soup is piping hot.
    Serve soup hot with a bit of butter and a dash of paprika on each serving.
    You could add some Cheddar.
