Applesauce Stack Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 1/2 c. sugar
    1/2 c. shortening
    1 egg
    1/2 c. milk
    1 tsp. vanilla
    3 1/2 c. self-rising flour (approximately)
    2 qt. applesauce
Preparation
    Cream together sugar and shortening.
    Add egg, milk and vanilla.
    Add flour or enough to make a good cookie dough.
    Roll out and divide in five equal balls.
    Pat out on a floured board to about 1/4-inch thick and place in greased pie pans.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 for about 8 to 10 minutes or until light brown.
