Sausage And Wild Rice Casserole - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    6 1/4 oz. box long grain and wild rice
    1 lb. bulk Italian sausage
    1 c. chopped onion
    1 c. chopped green pepper
    1 c. chopped celery
    8 oz. can sliced water chestnuts, rinsed and drained
    4 oz. can mushrooms (either stems and pieces or slices), drained
    10 3/4 oz. can cream of mushroom soup
Preparation
    Cook rice according to package directions. Crumble and brown sausage. Drain (reserve some fat) and set aside. In reserve fat, saut onions until cooked. Add celery and green pepper and saut until softened. Combine all ingredients and mix well. Place in a baking dish (one 9 x 13-inch or one 8 x 8-inch). Bake at 350\u00b0 for 30 minutes or until hot and bubbly. (Can be frozen and thawed before baking.)
