Corn Dogs - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. plain cornmeal
    1 c. plain flour
    2 Tbsp. sugar
    2 tsp. baking powder
    1 tsp. salt
    1 egg, slightly beaten
    1 c. milk
    2 Tbsp. melted shortening
    1 lb. wieners
Preparation
    Sift together dry
    ingredients.
    Beat egg slightly; add milk, and stir
    into
    first
    mixture.
    Add
    melted shortening. For deep frying, dip wieners in batter, holding with a fork or skewer. Drain excess batter over bowl.
    Fry at 375\u00b0 in a wire basket until golden
    brown.
    Drain
    on absorbent paper.\tServe hot.
