Cherry Jubilee Pie - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 single pie crust, baked
    1 can sour pitted cherries
    1 pkg. cherry Jell-O
    1 pt. vanilla ice cream
    whip cream
Preparation
    Drain juice from cherries, save.
    Add enough water to juice to make 1 cup of liquid.
    Bring to boil.
    Dissolve Jell-O in large bowl with boiled liquid.
    Add pint of ice cream to dissolved Jell-O mixture.
    Stir until melted.
    Let set until thick but not solid. Stir in cherries and pour into pie shell.
    Refrigerate.
    Top with whipped cream.
