Toasted Butter Pecan Cake - cooking recipe

2 c. chopped pecans
1 1/4 c. butter
3 c. sifted flour
2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
2 c. sugar
4 eggs
1 c. milk
1 tsp. vanilla
Preparation

Toast pecans in 1/4 cup butter at 350\u00b0 for 20 to 25 minutes. Sift flour with baking powder and salt.
Cream butter and sugar. Add eggs, one at a time, blending well.
Add dry ingredients, alternating with milk.
Stir in vanilla and 1 1/3 cups pecans. Bake in 3 (8 or 9-inch) pans at 350\u00b0 for 25 to 30 minutes.
