St. Ann'S Bazaar-Senate Bean Soup - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 lb. dried beans (Great Northern, navy or marrow beans)
    smoked ham bone (with some meat on it) *
    3 medium potatoes, cooked and mashed
    1 c. chopped onions
    1 c. chopped celery
    2 cloves garlic, minced
    salt and pepper to taste
    water
Preparation
    *Can use smoked ham hock.
