German Crumb Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. brown sugar
    3 c. flour
    1 c. shortening
    1 tsp. baking soda
    2 tsp. cinnamon
    2 tsp. nutmeg
    2 eggs
    1 c. sour milk
    1/2 c. nuts (optional)
Preparation
    Mix brown sugar, flour and cut in shortening to crumb stage. Reserve 1 cup of this mixture.
    Add all dry ingredients, then eggs and sour milk.
    Pour into shallow pan (5 x 9-inch or 8 x 8-inch).
    Sprinkle top with the cup of reserved mixture.
    Bake in moderate oven (350\u00b0) for about 40 minutes.
