Blackberry Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. shortening
    3 eggs
    3 c. sifted all-purpose flour
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1 tsp. nutmeg
    1/2 tsp. ground cloves
    1 can (15 or 16 oz.) blackberries
    2 c. sugar
    1 tsp. vanilla
    2 tsp. baking soda
    1 tsp. cinnamon
    1/2 tsp. allspice
    3 Tbsp. cocoa
Preparation
    Mix together shortening, sugar, unbeaten eggs and vanilla. Let stand for shortening to soften slightly.
    Sift flour once. Measure and sift onto waxed paper or into another bowl with salt, soda, spices and cocoa. Scoop up with sifter and sift 2 or 3 times to mix ingredients.
